During the first year of the Corona epidemic 2021, I created an online performance using social media uploading a self portrait a day. I named the project A Selfie A Day and invited others to collaborate by uploading their own painted or drawn portraits. The performance became a tool to reconnect with oneself and maintain continuity and connection in this unprecedented time of social political change. Most of the portraits are drawn and painted on hand made paper which I had made in the past. I used anything that I had that would leave a mark from oil paints to crayons pencils pigments and spices as materials started to dwindle due to the restrictions in movement and the inability to acquire needed materials.
